Save-A-Life
This is a statewide smoke alarm distribution program that works in partnership with local fire departments. Each fire department is eligible for up to 50 free smoke alarms each year if they are matched with 50 alarms purchased with local funding. Alarms are distributed to low-income families with children.

Brittany Project
This is a program in which life jackets are available for loan at most state and federal lakes in Oklahoma. Named for 4-year-old Brittany Mobley, who drowned at Lake Thunderbird, the program began when Brittany's mother, Dona Williams, partnered with Safe Kids Oklahoma to obtain funding for loaner life jackets and kiosks on which the jackets hang. At some of the U.S. Corps of Engineers lakes, the jackets are available at the gatehouses.

Please Be Seated
Initiated in 1992, this program allows concerned citizens to report moving vehicles carrying unrestrained children. The program allows motorists to carry Please Be Seated postcards in their vehicles and use them to report non-compliant drivers. The postcards request the tag number of the vehicle, date and time of reported offense, and number and ages of unrestrained children. The owner of the vehicle receives a packet with information on the importance of buckling up children and child passenger safety resources. Please Be Seated is purely educational, and non-compliant drivers are not reported to law enforcement.

Risk Watch
This classroom curriculum, developed by the National Fire Protection Administration, is already being taught in more than 30 Oklahoma communities, and is easily implemented. A comprehensive injury prevention curriculum, Risk Watch is geared for pre-K through 8th grade. It integrates all the core subjects including math, science, and language arts. A limited number of Oklahoma communities are eligible each year for free Risk Watch resources from Safe Kids Oklahoma.

Operation Fire Safe
Currently, more than 50 percent of all reported arson fires in central Oklahoma are started by children and adolescents. Established to combat juvenile fire setting, the Operation Fire Safe program is sponsored by the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG), Safe Kids Oklahoma and numerous metro area fire departments. It offers fire education for children and parents, as well as counseling for children who have been involved in juvenile fire play in an effort to address the root problem.

Safe Kids Buckle Up
One ongoing program of Safe Kids Worldwide and its coalitions is Safe Kids Buckle Up. A long-term effort to get more children restrained and restrained properly in vehicles, SKBU includes child safety seat check-ups and child passenger safety training classes for professionals and other interested advocates. Classes are offered at various locations throughout the state and range in length from one day to four days.

Speakers Bureau
Willing volunteers are ready to speak to your group on a wide variety of topics related to child injury prevention. The presentation can be tailored to fit your time frame and audience demographics. Minimum audience is 15. Topics include child passenger safety, burn prevention, water safety, bicycle safety, toy safety, playground safety, poison prevention, general child safety, etc.
