The 2008 Martha Collar Memorial "Tee-up for Safe Kids" Golf Tournament

Safe Kids Oklahoma will host the Martha Collar Memorial “Tee-up for Safe Kids” Golf Tournament on Monday, July 14, 2008, at Oaktree Golf and Country Club. This event is the only fundraiser held by our organization and all the money generated from the tournament stays here in Oklahoma.

Each participant receives a great player package with lunch and dinner provided. Four-person teams will play a shotgun start beginning at noon.

Safe Kids will also be having our annual Golf Ball Drop. We will drop up to 2,500 prenumbered, presold golf balls from a helicopter onto the first green just before noon. The first ball in the hole or the closest to the hole will win $2,500.

As we look at our budget for the upcoming months and try to allocate funds to the categories where we can have the most effect, Safe Kids Oklahoma directs our attention to our primary areas of focus: child passenger safety, home safety, fire safety, water safety, bike and wheeled sports safety, and pedestrian safety. Oklahoma ranks 15th nationally in unintentional injuries to children under the age of 15. In 2006, 105 children 14 years of age and younger were killed in motor vehicle accidents. Safe Kids Oklahoma hosted 45 car seat checks last year checking a total of 548 car seats. In 2006, there were 36 unintentional fatalities to children ages 0-15 in Oklahoma including drowning, fire, choking, and suffocation. Each year in the United States, 1,800 children are injured at home and 690 children sustain an injury daily while riding their bicycle. We are asking you to partner with Safe Kids and help us make Oklahoma’s children safer.

The following is how YOU can be involved in the “Tee-up for Safe Kids” tournament:
  • $1,500 Corporate Team Sponsorship includes a 4-person team, a hole sponsorship, corporate signage, player package, lunch and dinner buffet, and media recognition.
  • $500 Water Sponsorships include signage on the course and on player cart water carriers and on tournament signage.
  • $300 Individual Player Entry which will include a player package, lunch and dinner buffet.
  • $250 Hole Sponsorship includes signage at a designated hole and listing on tournament signage.
  • $100 Course Beverage Station Sponsorship includes signage on a course beverage station.
  • In-Kind Donations of Product, Door Prizes items (gift certificates, golf specialty items, TV/stereo/electronic/game, cash, etc.
  • Golf Ball Drop for a suggested donation of $10 per golf ball (or $50 for 6 golf balls) that will be dropped from a helicopter with the first ball in the hole (or closest to the hole) winning $2,500.
